We analyzed 1,810 real Wordle answers to rank the trickiest — the words with the most one-letter look-alikes that survive even a great guess.
Across 1,810 past Wordle answers, SHARE has the most one-letter look-alikes — 13 other valid answers that differ from it by a single letter. When that many near-twins exist, even a strong opening guess can leave you staring at a fistful of options and burning turns to tell them apart. The average answer has just 1.7 look-alikes, and 567 answers have none at all — those are the ones a good opener can pin down fast.

We compared every Wordle answer to all the others. A word's trap score is how many other valid answers differ from it by exactly one letter — the look-alikes that survive even a strong guess.
