Spelling Bee solver: guide & tips

How the Spelling Bee solver works

Enter the center letter (the one that must appear in every word) and the six outer letters from today’s honeycomb. The solver checks them against a dictionary of more than 270,000 words and returns every valid Spelling Bee answer — words that are at least four letters long, include the center letter, and use only the seven letters available.

Letters can be reused as many times as you like, just like in the real puzzle. Pangrams — words that use all seven letters at least once — are flagged and listed first, since each one is worth a bonus and finding them is the key to reaching Genius and Queen Bee.

    Reaching Genius and Queen Bee

Genius is usually about 70% of the day’s total points, while Queen Bee means finding every single word. The fastest way up the ranks:

    • Find the pangram(s) first — they unlock the most points and confirm you can use all seven letters.
    • Work through common prefixes and suffixes (re-, un-, -ing, -ed, -er, -ful).
    • Try every four-letter base word, then extend it with the available letters.
    • Do not forget plurals and less-common but valid words — they add up.

Using it to learn, not just to win

The most satisfying way to use the solver is as a check after you have given the puzzle a real try — reveal just the words you missed, or use it to confirm a hunch about an unusual word. Over time you will start recognizing the patterns the puzzle reuses and need it less.
